The 2026 Buckeyes: What We Think We Know

Camp is over. Game week is here. Here’s what we believe about Ohio State before the answers start coming.

The offseason is officially over.

Ohio State opens the 2026 season this week against Ball State, and after months of projections, position battles, recruiting talk and fall camp buzz, we’re finally going to get our first real look at this year’s Buckeyes.

Before the ball is kicked off, Jeremy and Coach Slate take one final look at what we think we know about Ohio State heading into Week 1. What are the biggest strengths of this roster? Where are the legitimate concerns? Which players emerged during camp? And which offseason storylines are we ready to buy—or still need to see on Saturdays?

From Julian Sayin and the new-look offense under Arthur Smith to a defense replacing major pieces, we set the table for the 2026 season and establish the questions that will define this team.

No more projections. No more camp reports.

It’s time to find out what the 2026 Buckeyes really are.
