What We Learned From Coach Day

Ryan Day addressed the Buckeyes’ quarterback situation, the importance of rallying around the next man up, and what Ohio State needs from the entire team moving forward.

The quarterback situation has changed at Ohio State, but Ryan Day’s message during the latest Buckeye Roundtable made one thing clear: this isn’t going to be solved by the quarterback alone.

With Julian Sayin sidelined, Luke Fahey and Tavien St. Clair are getting valuable reps as Ohio State prepares for USC. Day discussed the importance of preparing both quarterbacks, getting the team behind whoever takes the first snap, and leaning on the rest of the roster to help make the transition as smooth as possible.

That means the offensive line has to be at its best. The run game has to provide support. The playmakers have to make plays. And the defense has to continue playing at the level we’ve seen over the last several weeks.

So what did we actually learn from Day’s comments?

What does Ohio State need from Fahey? How much of a factor could Tavien St. Clair become? And what does this team have to do around the quarterback to keep moving toward its goals?

We’re breaking down Coach Day’s latest comments and what they mean for the Buckeyes moving forward.
